Residing in a former rail station alongside the stunning River Seine, the noted Parisian museum is home to many noteworthy paintings, sculptures, and photography pieces from the short-lived artistic flourish between 1848 -1915.
Orsay Museum is located in the 7th Arrondissement of Paris at 1 Rue de la Légion d'Honneur, 75007 Paris, France.
To avoid the worst crowds, head to the museum at off-peak times, between 9:30 am to 12 pm on weekdays. The museum also opens late on Thursday evenings from 6.00 pm – 9:45 pm, with Orsay Museum tickets between these times sold at a discounted rate.
The best way to get to the Orsay Museum is through public transport. Within walking distance of Paris’ metro stop, Solférino, on line 12, and with RER trains, you can reach directly to the museum.
On the first Sunday of every month, the museum is free for everyone to visit - if you don't mind the crowds. Alternatively, you can visit the museum for free with the Paris Pass.
